THE FLYING PIG UPTOWN BACKPACKER HOSTEL
We are part of a network of hostels throughout Europe and also have a sister hostel (FP Downtown) on the other side of the city. Even in the lower tourism seasons, we remain a thriving party hostel that celebrates the traveler lifestyle with events like Karaoke, Beer Pong, and more.
Our Amsterdam building houses over 180 guests at a time over 6 floors, ranging from private rooms to dorms for 14+ people.
We are searching for new Piggies with personality and a passion for embracing the traveler/backpacker experience. We only consider those who want to meet others, have a great time, and create unforgettable memories with staff and guests alike.
HOUSEKEEPING ROLE
As part of our daily team, you’ll tackle tasks like making beds, vacuuming, changing bins, cleaning bathrooms, and keeping the hostel clean and tidy. These tasks are 4 days per week, you help the cleaning team as usualy and the bar team in the evening.
This totals 32 hours per week, and you’ll always get 2 days off unless you choose to pick up extra shifts.
The great thing about working at a hostel is that we can house our cleaning staff. We have a 10-person staff room with ensuite bathrooms and balcony doors opening onto the gorgeous Vondelpark. The rate for a bed in this room is a heavily discounted €600 per month.
Contract & Benefits
Working contract: maximum of 7 months, with the first month as probation.
We only consider people who can stay at least 3 months.
Paid hourly rate: €16.19 (including 8% holiday pay).
You’ll generate pension, holiday pay, and other work benefits.

Small Print
Must be over 18 (due to our bar and smoking room).
We do not hire couples, as this can detract from meeting new people.
Must have an EU passport or valid working visa.
